Idli Sambar

How To Make Idli Sambar Recipe

Serving 4 People

Ingredients :



For Idli : 

- 2 Cup Rice

- 1 Cup Urad Daal (Lentil)

- Salt To Taste

- 1 tsp ENO (Fruit Salt)

- Oil For Grease



For Sambar :


- 3 Cup Toor Daal (Pigeon Pea)



For Tampering:



- 2 Finely Chopped Onion

- 6 To 7 Garlic Pieces

- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds

- 10 To 12 Curry Leaves

- 2 Dry Red Chilly

- 2 tsp Sambar Masala

- Salt To Taste

- 2 tsp Red Chilly Powder

- 1 Pinch Turmeric Powder

- 1/2 Cup Tamarind Water (Imli Water)



Garnish :


- Mint Or Coriander Leaves



Method :


1. Take 2 Cup Rice , 1 Cup Urad Daal (Lentil), And Soak It Over Night. After Soak Over Night Bland  This Rice And Urad Daal Well And Make A Smooth Paste. After Making A Smooth Paste  Rest This Mixture For 3 To 4 Hour Till Fermentation .

2. After 3 To 4 Hour Add Salt To Taste And ENO ( Fruit Salt ) And  Mix It Well. After Mixing Take A Idli Plate And Grease With Oil .Then Take Small Amount Of Idli Batter With The Help Of Spoon And  Pour This Idli Batter In To Idli Plate.

3. Now Take A Idli Steamer And Add 5 Cup Water And Heat It. Once Water Gets Hot Add Idli Plate With The Idli Batter And Steam It For 10 Minutes. After 10 Minutes Check This Idli Batter With Knife. If  Knife Is Clean Then Idli Is Ready And If  Knife Is Not Clean Then Cook The Idli Batter For More 5 Minutes. 




For Sambar :  


1. Soak 3 Cup Toor Daal (Pigeon Pea) In To 5 Cup Water For 2 Hours. After 2 Hours Pour This 3 Cup Toor Daal (Pigeon Pea) In To The Pressure Cooker And Cook This 3 Cup Toor Daal Till 2 Whistle. After 2 Whistle Open Pressure Cooker Lid And Mix It Well.

2. After Mixing Toor Daal Then Add 1/2 Cup Tamarind Water (Imli Water), 3 Cup Water And Salt To Taste. Cook This Daal In To 2 To 3 Boil. After 2 To 3  Boil Off The Gas Flame. Now Samber Is Ready for Tampering (Tadka).



 For Tampering (Tadka) :


1. Take A Pan And Add 2 tsp Oil And Heat It. Once Oil Gets Hot Add Mustard Seeds And Cook It For 1/2 Minutes. After 1/2 Minutes Then Add 2 Finely Chopped Onion, 6 To 7 Garlic Pieces Cook This Mixture Till Golden Color.

2. When Mixture Become Golden Color Then Add Dry Red Chilly, 10 To 12 Curry Leaves, 2 tsp Sambar Masala, Salt To Taste, 2 tsp Red Chilly Powder, 1 Pinch Turmeric Powder. And  Mix It Well. After Mixing All The Ingredients Cook The Mixture For 1 Minute.

3. After 1 Minute Add This Mixture In To Sambar. And Mix It Well. Now Sambar Is Ready To Serve With Idli Transfer This Idli And Sambar In To Serving Plate.


Garnish :


- Garnish Idli Sambar With Mint Or Coriander Leaves. Serve Idli Sambar With Finley Chopped Onion, Green Chilly And Lemon Slice.
